We had a quick chat with Cate about her upcoming tour, biggest inspiration and favourite 2022 releases.

You must be super busy rehearsing for your upcoming tour, so thanks for taking to time out to speak to us! You’ll be playing headline shows in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Bristol with support from Belot and Nell Mescal. What are you most looking forward to about the experience?

“Ah! I’m honestly so excited, this is my first tour and I can’t believe people in these cities even listen to my music. I also can’t wait to see Bristol and Birmingham because I've never been! Also, to hear Belot every night and Nell in London - I’m such fans of them both and it’s so special that it’s a girls tour!”

You’ve released 3 amazing singles so far this year that we can’t stop listening to! Which has been your favourite one and why?

“Thank you! I think ‘Ruin’ is my favourite, just because it brings up so many memories of my first year in London.”

On the flip side, what has been your favourite single released by another artist this year?

“Wow, that is such a hard question because there've been so many good songs released this year. I’d have to say it’s a tie between Anything But Me by MUNA and Probabilities by Maude Latour.”

Quick fire question, who is your biggest inspiration?

“Dolly Parton, I love that woman.”

Finally, what has been your proudest moment this year?

“Playing my first headline show at the Camden Assembly back in April, I’m just so happy shows are happening again and I get to meet so many nice people!”
