Five minutes with Uninvited

To celebrate the announcement of their new LP ‘The Party Song’ (out July 26th), we caught up with Uninvited last week to reflect on their huge year so far and get a taste of what we can expect in the future:

Thank you so much for chatting with us! So firstly, a MASSIVE congratulations on winning this year’s BBC Radio 1’s live lounge introducing. What did winning this mean to you?

“it means the world to us to have been chosen from thousands of other musicians, it’s proves our hard work isn’t going to waste. recording a live lounge at the bbc studios was the best day of our lives, from this we’ve gotten a lot of attention and opportunities.”

And for those who are unaware of Uninvited, what’s important for people to know about you, and what do you want listeners to get from your music?

“music for us is an escape and we want that to reflect in our sound, we want people to have a great time when at our shows and listening to our music. we are the voice for those who don’t feel seen, much like what we needed when we were younger.”

What have been the highlights of 2022 for you? What are you most looking forward to achieving in the next year?

“main highlight obviously has to be winning the bbc live lounge competition, as well as this we are playing reading and leeds in august and we know that is going to be absolutely hardcore. We also sold out our first ever headline show in our hometown Glasgow within days which is crazy to imagine.

we’re looking forward to growing our fanbase and growing as a band and do what we can to provide better shows and even more music for you.”

You just announced your new track ‘The Party Song’, dropping July 26th. What can you tell us about the LP?

“the party song is one of our favourite songs we’ve written, we feel with this song we have finally nailed our sound and we cannot wait for the world to hear it. It’s a song about wanting to feel safe in social settings and being outside of your comfort zone and the anxieties that come with it.  A song we can all relate to!”

We’re so excited to see you smash your UK shows in September! What can we expect at the shows?

“at our shows you can expect new music, new merch, a safe space and a good time. we cannot wait to take this show on the road and debut our sound in places we’ve yet to visit. We also cannot wait to meet people who support our band.”
