Guitar Music - Courting
On their debut album Liverpool four-piece Courting bring a lot to the table. At the albums core is a blend of trendy talk-rock mixed with huge choruses. Particularly on ‘Tennis’ and ‘Jumper’ where the latter has a real Britpop flavour heavily emphasised by its baggy beat. But surrounding this core there is a lot more going on beneath making ‘Guitar Music’ a compelling listen. Opening track ‘Cosplay/Twin Cities’ harks back to Amnesiac era Radiohead with its use of off-beat electronic notes, and eight-minute track ‘Uncanny Valley Forever’ wouldn’t sound out of place on a post-rock compilation leaving the door wide opening for album number two.
Album highlights: Tennis, Uncanny Valley Forever, Loaded

Hold The Girl - Rina Sawayama
Packed with genre mashups and key-changes, Rina has absolutely smashed her second studio album. It adopts a slightly different feel to the hyperpop-fest that was SAWAYAMA, serving as more of a healing channel for Rina and her journey with therapy; however, it’s still an absolute triumph of nu-metal and pop, and has coined a new generational mantra in “Fuck what they did to Britney, to Lady Di and Whitney”.
Album highlights: This Hell, Holy (Til You Let Me Go), Frankenstein

Sometime / Human / Geist - DIIV
In true DIIV fashion, this nostalgia inducing record is full of dreamy top lines and hypnotic bass riffs. The Brooklyn based band have a distinctive ethereal sound and energy that resonates within all of their songs and is instantly recognisable on this EP, despite the group not formerly releasing any music since their last album in 2019.
Album highlights: Corvalis, Human

It’s taken TEED 10 years to put out another album but it doesn’t disappoint!
Album highlights: Crosswalk, Be with You, When the Lights Go

Natural Brown Prom Queen - Sudan Archives
Absolutely love this album from the lyrics to the production to the vibes. This album is a (late) summer anthem celebrating black women and their artistry.
Album highlights: Home Maker, NBPQ

Bleu (better with time) - Fred Again…
Love the first two singles he’s released from Actual Life 3. Equally chilled and uplifting, can’t wait to hear the full album!
