Our Staff highlight the albums they’re listening to this July

Silverbacks - FAD

Oli

“After opening track Dunkirk you might be fooled into thinking this is more of the same post punk new wave, but Dublin’s Silverbacks prove here that they are so much more diverse. FAD twists and turns with elements of Pavement, Sonic Youth, Foals, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and even The Cribs! A fantastic debut.”

Favourite tracks: Dunkirk, Klub Silberrucken, Muted Gold, Up The Nurses

Lucky Daye - Painted (Deluxe Edition)

Peter

“Painted was my album of 2019 and this new edition features another bunch of amazing tracks, incl. features with Babyface and Victoria Monét. I’d have troubles singling out any favourite tracks, I keep returning to the whole album over and over and over...”

Skullcrusher – Self-titled EP

Greg

"Instant gem from the L.A based artist whose 4 track EP is simple, soft and honest. The name screams brutality and horror but it couldn’t be further from it and is incredibly comforting for solitary walks .”

Favourite tracks: Places/Planes, Two Weeks In December

Do Nothing – Zero Dollar Bill EP

Sam

"I like bands that prove me wrong after a few listens, and Do Nothing definitely fit into that category. I persisted with this EP and I’m glad I did as I don’t think there’s a bad track on it now. For fans of Talking Heads, The Fall, Parquet Courts etc."

Favourite tracks: Comedy Gold, Contraband
