Tiktok star Sonny Tennet caught up with us ahead of his sold out headline London show this month.

Hey Sonny, thanks for chatting with us! You’ve had a busy year playing gigs, particularly in London, and creating music content for your social channels. What has 2022 been like through your eyes?

“2022 has been a great year for me, life became normal again after lockdown, so it was amazing to be travelling, gigging, recording in London. It’s been so nice playing to live audiences and finishing the year strong on December 13th at The Waiting Room!”

You’re an avid TikTok creator with numerous viral videos and around 350K followers. What inspired you to start you channel?

“It was actually during lockdown when I started it. My cousin Shannon kept pushing me to do it and I put it off because I thought it was just dancing and a bit cheesy. But honestly best decision ever so thanks Shannon! It’s amazing the reach you can get from the platform!”

Do you have any golden advice for musicians who want to make an impression on TikTok?

“Consistency! Just record an original, your favourite cover or anything you want and throw it on there. Then do the same tomorrow, and the next day etc…”

Congratulations on selling out The Waiting Room in London for a very special headline show! Are you excited for it?

“Thank you so much. I am absolutely BUZZING, can’t wait to see everyone in person and sing my arse off!”

We’re excited to see what the future holds for you! What are you hoping to achieve next year?

“Next year I want to put on more shows… 

…I really want to focus on the live side of things, maybe a little tour (…maybe it’s already in the works) and of course keep on writing and releasing music. It’s all so exciting!”
