LÉON

Five minutes with LÉON

In between releasing her stunning new album titled Circles and going on a worldwide tour we managed to catch up with the Swedish pop singer-songwriter LÉON!

Cheers for taking your time to speak to us Lotta! It looks like you’ve been having an incredible summer on your Fade Into A Dream tour. What have been the standout moments for you so far?

“It might sound so cliché but every show has felt special in one way or another. Especially since I haven’t toured since 2019. But the show we did in Chicago, it made me bawl my eyes out. I cried on stage, walking off stage, walking back on stage, haha. It was just so much love in the room and hit me really hard how much I have missed doing this. Playing the new songs and hearing the crowd sing every word back made me very emotional. Doing a show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles was a big dream coming true for me as well, so that was a very full circle moment right there.”

What has been your favourite track to perform live off your latest album ‘Circles’ ?

“I’d probably say Soaked. I didn’t realise It would turn into a moment they way it did in the show, which is pretty cool since that was one of the songs I was the most nervous to release.”

We’d love to know what’s currently on your playlist… are there any tracks that you can’t get enough of at the moment?

”Be sweet” by Japanese Breakfast is so, so good. ”I don’t live here anymore” by The War on drugs, ”Slow Song” by The Knocks. And ”You’re not the one” by Sky Ferreira, that’s a song a keep coming back to.”

Whilst you’ve been touring North America, what are three essential things you couldn’t live without?

“Moisturizer, makeup-remover, anything that doesn’t make my face look like a potato in the morning, ha! And my Swedish snus I guess.“

We’re so excited to see you perform in London in August! Do you have any pre-stage rituals, and what do you usually do to unwind after you’ve finished a show?

“I love to be alone before a show, taking my time to put on my face while listening to music. Doing too much before a show tends to make me a little anxious. But then after the show I usually wanna go out to a bar nearby or hang out at the bus with everyone.”

Make sure to check out LÉON’s music video for ‘Fade Into A Dream’ off her latest album ‘Circles’. She will be performing in London tonight, last chance to buy is here. You can also connect with her on Instagram, Twitter and her website.
